2012. Oil paint on canvas. 36" x 48". Fifth painting in the water series. Sarah was the model. This one might be my favorite. I let more exaggerated color come out and left the composition simple.

It really is a stunning piece and gives a great impact. It expands the use of oil painting. I am stunned at the use of colors and the feelings this brings in. The reflection atop is just as fractal as a reflection should be. The hues of the red bring a nice contrast to the picture and gives the painting as a whole a 'main-point' to look at. Overall, this is an interesting piece and is drawn at quite an interesting angle.
My favorite part of this piece would have to be the way the head is tipped a bit in the sea. Gives off an ethereal feeling.
Amazingly detailed and quite beautiful. Please keep up the great work.
Wow. Just. Wow. This is so gorgeous on so many levels-- I have no idea how to explain this. Lighting, colors, perspective... the works. Congrats on the DD, by the way. Something this beautiful truly deserves one.
I don't even know where to start. This is so close to perfect! The reflection of the water is so awesome and seeing the lighting made when someone goes underwater is so cool! It's just-- wow, so wow.
The one thing that throws me off is the face anatomy around the right side of the face. At first glance, the face is perfect, but after seeing it a few more times, it looks a bit off-- as if it's slowly pulling away from the rest of the face. Also, the left ear. Did you intentionally leave it off or is it that bright pink that's barely starting to submerge into the water along with the hair? It seems too far back and up. I mean, the picture would still look gorgeous if the ear was left out...
Overall, this is just a wonderful piece to continuously go back to over and over again! I must favor this.
